The Brisbane Lions have finalised their line-up for this Sunday afternoon’s clash with Geelong at the Gabba.
The Lions have made three changes, with Jonathan Brown, Daniel Merrett and Brent Moloney returning to the side.
Merrett returns to the Lions’ line-up after serving a three-match suspension for rough conduct, while Brown is back from a two-match ban he received in Round 9 against Carlton.
Niall McKeever, Andrew Raines and Rohan Bewick have all been omitted from the side that was defeated by Fremantle last Saturday at Patersons Stadium.
Sunday’s clash marks an outstanding milestone for Ash McGrath, who will play his 200th AFL game. McGrath was drafted to the Lions in the 2000 National Draft and was a member of the 2003 Premiership side.
Last week’s match against Fremantle saw Simon Black become Brisbane’s games record-holder when he lined up for his 319th senior AFL match – surpassing Marcus Ashcroft’s previous feat of 318 games. The Club will take the opportunity to celebrate this feat again on Sunday when Black returns home to the Gabba.
The Lions will honour Black’s achievement by wearing a limited edition ‘Simon Black’ jumper during their on-field warm up and are also encouraging fans to wear black to the game to celebrate the milestone. Bay 23 will also be renamed the ‘Simon Black Bay’ for the day, with 301 Lion fans receiving limited edition Simon Black t-shirts in an attempt to paint the bay a sea of black.
