The Brisbane Lions will unveil three debutants in their Round 1 clash with Hawthorn on Saturday.
James Aish, (Pick No.7 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft), Lewis Taylor (Pick No.28 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft), and Michael Close (Pick No.32 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft) will make the trip to Launceston tomorrow ahead of their first senior AFL game.
Trent West, who was recruited to the Lions during last year’s trade period, is also set to play his first official game in Lions colours, making it a total of four new faces for the Lions in Round 1.
After announcing three key re-signings this week the good news keeps coming for the Lions, with three-time Club Champion Jonathan Brown also named in the side.
Brown will make his return to senior football after he suffered a foot injury in Round 19 last year and was sidelined for the remainder of the 2013 season.
With just 11 players who were part of the team's 131-point loss to the Hawks during the NAB Challenge, the Lions will be fielding a considerably different, and far more experienced, line-up this time around.
The Lions' complete side for Round 1 includes:
