Recently re-signed Brisbane Lions midfielder Jack Redden said there was never any doubt about wanting to remain with the Club he's represented for the past five seasons.

Redden, who hails from Keith in country South Australia, said the lure of returning home was never a factor in his decision to re-commit to the Lions for another two seasons. 

"I really had no intentions of going home," Redden said.

"I love it up here. I love the club. It's been a great six years here so I'm rapt to sign another two-year deal."

Redden has seen just about everything in his five years at the club, from two finals in 2009, to a bottoming-out with just four wins in 2011, to a sacked coach in Michael Voss last year.

But the 24-year-old is confident that success is not far away under new coach Justin Leppitsch.

"I think he's just got a great understanding of the game," Redden said of Leppitsch.

"There's been a lot that's happened in the last six years.

"I was fortunate enough to play two finals, so I've experienced both sides.

"We've been not that competitive the last few years but I think with the young group we are heading in the right direction and I'm confident we'll play finals in the next couple of years."
