Tom Cutler became the 18th player to either re-sign or join the Brisbane Lions in 2014 on Wednesday.
Cutler, who was recruited from the Oakleigh Chargers with Pick No.33 at last year’s National Draft, said the recent influx of exciting young talent into the Club made his decision to sign on for a further two years and easy one to make.
“I’m getting along really well with my teammates and forging some good friendships with them, as well as the coaches,” Cutler told LIONS TV.
“The culture is really picking up. You can see that on the training track where the boys are training really hard. There’s definitely a bright future.
“To have five or six guys join who were my age, and in the same situation as me, did make (the transition) a lot easier.”
The 19-year-old managed seven senior games in his debut season, and was able to showcase the poise and skill that saw him highly touted as a junior.
Cutler revealed his main goal for 2015 is to “stay healthy” and build on the promising start to his AFL career.
“I missed a few games late last year through injury. I’d love to play more senior games, but most importantly just stay on the track and just developing as a player…that’s my main goal,” he said.
