Beef Stir Fry
With our heavy training schedule, it’s great to be able to come home and whip up a tasty meal in under half an hour.
This beef stir-fry is not only quick and easy to make, it is also healthy!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10-15 minutes
Serving: 4 decent helpings
What you need
1 tbsp tamari sauce (can also use soy sauce)
1 tbsp shao xing wine (can also use dry sherry)
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp of garlic paste
1 tsp of ginger paste
200g of lean beef (I use sirloin steaks)
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp of sunflower oil
1 large carrot
100g of snow peas
150g of mushrooms
3 tbsp hoisin sauce
Rice or Hokkien Noodles to serve
Directions
- Mix tamari sauce, shao xing wine, sesame oil, garlic and ginger in a bowl
- Slice the beef and add to the bowl to marinate while you prepare the other ingredients
- Slice the carrot into fine matchsticks and the mushrooms
- Cook you rice or noodles according the directions on the pack
- Heat a wok or large frying pan adding the sunflower oil once hot
-Add the beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until lightly brown, remove from the wok and set aside on a plate
- Add a little more oil if needed then add the carrots, stir-fry for 2-3 minutes before adding the snow peas and stir-fry for further 2-3 minutes
- Return the beef to the pan along with the mushrooms and toss everything together
- Add the hoisin sauce and stir-fry for another minute
- In separate pan, quickly toast your sesame seeds and sprinkle over the stir-fry right before serving with your rice or noodles
