Green hamstrung
Josh Green is the latest Lions player to be ruled out of Saturday's match
Green was taken from the field at three quarter time of Saturday’s match against Gold Coast with hamstring soreness, and failed to take any further part of the game.
Fortunately for the 21-year-old’s injury is not too severe, but is still expected to keep him out of action for at least one week.
“We decided to stop Josh at three quarter time, he didn’t have any significant incident, just felt a tightening in the hamstring,” Strength and Conditioning Coach Matt Hass told LIONS TV as part of the Bupa Recovery Report.
“It was scanned and showed a mild strain. We’re pretty confident going forward that he’ll only miss the one week. Everything’s tracking in the right direction.”
It’s a cruel blow for the Tasmanian livewire who had started the season in career-best form.
In other injury news, Luke McGuane’s knee will be tested at training this week while Claye Beams is on track to return in three weeks.
However, there is still no timeframes on the potential returns of Stefan Martin, Brent Staker and Ashley McGrath.
