Daniel Rich remains positive despite having the inevitable confirmed on Monday that he ruptured his ACL against the Gold Coast last Saturday.
Although Rich’s course of action is still yet to be determined, the injury will require surgery and generally comes with a lengthy stint in rehabilitation.
But rather than focus on the negative, the 2009 Rising Star is already determined to approach his recovery with the same professionalism that he’s embodied throughout his 101-game career.
“I’m not too bad. It’s obviously sunk in a bit what’s going on,” Rich told LIONS TV.
“I’ll take little steps, day-by-day. I suppose it is going to be a long process.
“It is what it is.”
Rich has received an overwhelming amount of support from Lions fans on social media, prompting the 23-year-old to show his appreciation on Twitter.
“Thank you to everyone for the support and kind words. It is what it is, things could be a lot worse. Such a great time to learn and grow,” he tweeted.
