The previous night’s result at Etihad Stadium might have been disappointing, but it failed to dampen the spirits of the Victorian-based junior members who were thrilled to mix with their Brisbane Lions heroes on Sunday.
An enthusiastic pride of Young Lion and Lion Cub members took advantage of the opportunity to take part in the annual junior clinic hosted at Fitzroy’s spiritual home, the Brunswick Street Oval.
At the same time, Player Sponsors and Coaches Club members got to know the players and coaches a little better at a relaxed function at the same venue.
The children and adults alike continued to flock towards Jonathan Brown when he arrived midway through the morning, while newcomers James Aish, Lewis Taylor, Tom Cutler, Nick Robertson, and Darcy Gardiner made plenty of new fans.
Daniel Rich also made a special appearance as he was in Melbourne for a regulation consult with his knee specialist.
At the conclusion of the event, Senior Coach Justin Leppitsch and Captain Jed Adcock surprised the Fitzroy Juniors U14 side with a pre-game address.
All in all it was a wonderful morning, and the Club would like to thank all Young Lions, Lion Cubs, Player Sponsors, and Coaches Club members for a terrific attendance.
