The Brisbane Lions and Nature’s Own have teamed up as part of the Club’s return to Arizona for pre-season training this November.
The Lions will again send all five-plus year players to Flagstaff, Arizona, for the team’s altitude camp in the United States, with Nature’s Own jumping on board as the camp’s naming rights partner.
The group, comprising of around 25 players, 11 Corporate Supporters and a party of support staff, will depart for the two and a half week training camp on November 6.
Lions Physical Performance Manager, Brett Burton, said that the experience of the previous two camps was a key factor in heading back to Arizona.
"Our trips to Arizona over the past 2 years have yielded some great results. From a physical perspective, the camp provides us with the opportunity to minimise the stress on the musculoskeletal system of the more mature players on our list, whilst still managing to attain significant conditioning benefits. For this reason we will again be taking our five-plus year group,” Burton said.
"From a mental perspective, it also provides our players with a great opportunity to bond in an alternative elite training environment"
Luke Fitzgerald, Director of Sanofi Consumer Healthcare, which owns Nature’s Own, said it was great to be supporting the Lions’ return to Arizona.
“At Nature’s Own we understand the benefits of using our natural environment to push your boundaries and keep your body healthy,” said Luke.
“As a Brisbane based company with a huge workforce of scientists, quality experts and manufacturers all in the northern suburbs we are proud to be supporters of Brisbane’s favourite team.”
Lions strength and conditioning coach, Matt Hass, will again lead the contingent to Arizona after overseeing the program for the last two years.
