The AFL announced that the ‘Heat Policy’ would be enforced at each of the three NAB Cup matches in Victoria on Saturday – including the Brisbane Lions’ clash with Collingwood at Etihad Stadium
The soaring temperature means that clubs will now be allowed to use six interchange players and have unlimited interchange rotations.
Previously, teams would consist of three interchange players and three substitutes, while rotations were capped at 80.
The policy was created by the AFL for the welfare of the players in extreme conditions.
