As part of the 10-year anniversary celebrations surrounding the Club’s historic 3-Peat, the Brisbane Lions are giving fans the opportunity to WIN two tickets to the Vero 3-Peat Luncheon on Thursday 21 March – simply by nominating their favourite moment from across those three stirring Grand Final victories.

Fans have until Sunday 10 March to visit the ‘WIN’ page on lions.com.au and cast their vote for one of the following five on-field moments that will go down in Club folklore:

• Michael Voss’ goal from the boundary late in the 2001 Grand Final which all but secured the Lions’ breakthrough premiership

• A fitting end to the 2001 Grand Final saw the ball end up in Alastair Lynch’s hands when the final siren sounded. Lynch – the team’s oldest player who’d previously represented both Fitzroy and the Bears – famously held the ball aloft in jubilation

• A brutal hip-and-shoulder from Collingwood opponent Scott Burns had little impact on a determined Michael Voss in the 2002 Grand Final. After being blind-sided, Voss sprang back to his feet and dished off a handball which resulted in a Simon Black goal. And didn’t Voss let Burns know all about it?

• Jason Akermanis’ brilliant left-foot snap over his shoulder in the dying minutes of the 2002 Grand Final sealed a nail-biting clash against Collingwood. It came just minutes after Leigh Matthews had specifically ordered ‘Aka’ to rove from the front of the pack.

• Collingwood’s intimidation tactics came up short once again in the 2003 Grand Final. Jonathan Brown was the target this time, and the centre half-forward was promptly ironed out in the first contest. It resulted in a Lions goal within the opening minute. More importantly, Brown got back up and went on to kick two goals in the side’s commanding 50-point win.

From Monday 11 March, LIONSTV will re-live each moment by releasing one video per day in reverse order.

The competition winner will be announced on Friday 15 March along with the moment voted ‘most memorable’.
