120 Brisbane Lions Bronze members were given an inner-sanctum experience they won’t soon forget.
The members were invited to the Gabba earlier this month to take part in a guided tour of the Club’s football facilities by the Lions players themselves.
Ryan Lester, Sam Mayes, Stephen Wrigley, Matthew Leuenberger, Elliot Yeo, Ryan Harwood, Todd Banfield, Niall McKeever, Aaron Cornelius, Patrick Wearden, Billy Longer, Marco Paparone, Jack Crisp, Jordon Bourke, and Sam Michael guided members through the warm-up room, gym, and changerooms, before completing the tour with a chance to run up the players’ race.
Members also got to witness first-hand what both Lester and Wearden have to put up with on a daily basis, with their changeroom neighbour Matt Maguire boasting arguably the messiest locker of the group – with boots over-flowing from his drawer.
It was revealed later in the night that Maguire apparently has a different pair of football boots for every occasion – from the warm-up, to the match itself, and even stretching afterwards.
The Club sincerely hopes its Bronze members enjoyed the experience, and looks forward to their continued support in 2014 and beyond.
