Three Brisbane Lions players have been named in The Courier Mail’s 2013 Queensland Team of the Year – which recognises the best locally produced players from across the AFL.
Daniel Merrett, Dayne Zorko and Andrew Raines were among the 22 players honoured during Monday night’s NEAFL Grogan Medal awards ceremony at the Gabba.
Merrett was named for the sixth consecutive time, making him part of an exclusive group of players to have earned selection every season since the Team of the Year was introduced back in 2007.
Zorko and Raines were both selected for the second consecutive season, with Raines previously being named in the inaugural squad in 2007 while playing with Richmond.
