The Brisbane Lions are allegedly making a late bid for Collingwood Premiership forward Chris Dawes who is expected to announce his preferred destination this weekend.
The Age reported on Friday that the Lions are 'long shots' to lure Dawes interstate, but are still in the running.
Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs are believed to be leading the race for his signature.
It is believed that Dawes' preference is to stay in Melbourne, but hasn't ruled out a move to the Hyundai Centre.
Dawes, 24, has played 71 games in six seasons with the Magpies.
