LUKE Power left the Brisbane Lions after 14 seasons and three premierships, but his No.6 guernsey will live on in 2012, with rugged second-year midfielder Josh Green taking the jumper.

With 282 games to his credit and an engaging demeanour, Power was a fan favourite and ensured plenty of No.6 guernseys around the Gabba on game days.

But in Green, the Lions have a terrific replacement. Like Power, he is small in stature (177cm) but big on heart, as shown in his five games last season.

From Clarence in Tasmania, the red-headed Green loves putting his body on the line and winning the contested ball.

Another club favourite who hung his boots up recently was Jamie Charman, with his No.19 jumper going to new Hawthorn recruit Jordan Lisle.

Sam Docherty, No.12 pick in this year's NAB AFL Draft, will wear the No.1, worn by former Lion Mitch Clark.

In an ironic twist, Docherty was the player the Lions drafted with the pick they received from Melbourne in exchange for Clark.

The club's top draft pick, Billy Longer, obviously has no fear of superstitions, taking over the No.5 jumper last worn by controversial full forward Brendan Fevola.
