Jake Barrett is looking forward to a new start and a fresh opportunity at the Brisbane Lions.
Barrett, drafted initially to the GIANTS in 2013, is a tough midfielder with great work-rate and endurance.
Despite only playing one senior match in his career, he was crucial in GWS’ NEAFL victory over the Swans in September. He gathered 32 possessions and kicked two goals.
McCluggage speaks on first day
“I’m really excited and grateful that Brisbane picked me up and I’m looking forward to getting into it,” Barrett told LionsTV.
“I’m hoping to get a few games under my belt. The Giants are a really strong side, and they’ll be strong again next year. I was obviously looking for a new opportunity and I thought it was up here.”
The 21-year-old is living with Daniel Rich as he settles into Brisbane.
