After gradually losing confidence in my AFL Dream Team over the past few weeks, they’ve finally repaid my faith by cracking the 2,000-point mark for the first time.
Sure, I might have only just gotten there with an exact score of 2,000, but it’s certainly an improvement on the scores of 1600’s I’ve been used to.
I had a total of eight players score over 100 in Round 6 - with Reddo my top scorer with 120.
But the week still wasn’t without drama, with another late withdrawal proving costly.
This time it was Cats skipper Joel Selwood, who was evidently my Captain for the week! Fortunately I had cover on my bench this time (thank you Jack Crisp) as well as a handy Vice-Captain in Marc Murphy.
It’s particularly pleasing considering my tip for last week was to have back-up on the bench. So it’s good to see I’m taking my own advice.
My improvement on the scoreboard, however, wasn’t really reflected in the overall rankings.
I was expecting a pretty big jump up the leaderboard, but instead I’ve only gone from 347th to 336th in the Lions’ Group. I won’t get too disheartened though, because any improvement will suit me at the moment.
Speaking of the Lions’ Group leaderboard, there’s been some pretty big movements after Round 6.
The Bruisers have dropped to 10th after being the front-runners for the past few weeks, with kkkirkalicious taking the mantle as the team to beat.
PHammers is also worth a mention for having the second highest score for the round for the second consecutive week. They’ve now shot up to third overall.
POLKS’ TIP FOR THE WEEK
Everyone will be picking up Gold Coast midfielder Kyal Horsley this week after his second straight score of over 100.
Horsley is averaging 112 points from his two games - which ranks him 12th in the entire competition.
He will only cost you a touch over $100K, so barring injury, get on him.
