Steak and Potato bake

This is a hearty feed-full of carbs and protein with a little fat. It’s a perfect meal for a bloke looking to bulk up and during heavy gym phases I make it all the time.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 1 hour

What you need
Steak (1 steak for every person eating, whatever cut you like-sirloin, porterhouse or rump)
Salt and Pepper
BBQ sauce (or whatever sauce you like on your steak)
Cooking oil spray
750g potatoes, peeled, thinly slices
1 large onion, diced
120g reduced fat cheese, grated
1 cup skim milk (a lot less fat than cream)
1 tablespoon flour
½ teaspoon mustard powder
2 tablespoons minced garlic

Directions
Spray a medium sized baking dish with cooking oil. Place one third of the potatoes slices over the base of the dish and top with onion. Sprinkle with half the grated cheese and put remaining potato and onion on top.
Whisk together milk, flour and mustard in a jug until smooth. Season with salt and pepper and stir in the garlic. Pour over top of potato mixture and sprinkle with the rest of the cheese.
Bake in an oven at 180°C for one hour until slightly crispy on top and cooked through.
Meanwhile, fry steak in a pan, turning once, until cooked to your liking. Put aside onto paper towels and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
Serve steak with a big heap of potato bake and feel your muscles start to grow.
