My AFL Dream Team owes a lot to Jack Redden for its recent reversal in form.

Reddo has scored over 100 Dream Team points in six of his past eight games, and the Polka Specials have reaped the rewards by having locked him in as Captain each week.

For the record, the two games he didn’t quite crack the ton were in Round 8 and Round 12, where he scored 99 and 95 points respectively - but I’ve forgiven him for those two blemishes.

Even though he wasn’t my highest scorer for the week (that was the Bulldogs’ Matthew Boyd with 132 points), he certainly helped my side reach its biggest ever points total for 2012 - 2,090 points!

You’ll also be happy to hear that I’ve moved up to 274th overall in the Lions’ League - which I’m pretty sure is my highest ever position this year.

While I’m handing out the man-love, I think I should make special mention of Ryan ‘Rhino’ Harwood who racked up a career-best 127 Dream Team points yesterday against the Dees.

Rhino seems to have really re-invented himself as a defender in the past month, and was only a couple of handballs shy of being the Lions’ top scorer for Round 14. That honour was reserved for big Browny, who pulled in 130 points courtesy of his 24 touches, 12 marks and four goals.

Round 15 promises to be just as good for the Polka Specials, considering Collingwood star Scott Pendlebury has been all but cleared to return against the Blues this Friday night.

Pendlebury has been sitting on my bench for the past month, and will be a welcome addition to my side.

If only I had the cash and salary cap room in my Dream Team to recruit his team-mate Dane Swan who is just unstoppable at the moment.

But enough about me, how about some of those scores this week!

I must make particular mention to The Gorillas (coached by Dylan) and The Redeemers (coached by Clint) who scored more than 2,500 points for the Round.

Kind of makes my score pale in comparison, but congratulations to those boys nonetheless.

As for LeueyLongerCombo, they just keep on getting the job done each week. I’m almost waiting for them to have an off week so I can pump up someone else’s team for once, but they’re proving a very formidable unit.

POLKS’ TIP FOR THE WEEK

I mentioned it above, but if you haven’t done so already, move heaven and earth to get Dane Swan into your team.

He’ll cost you $600,000, but will be worth every penny.

The teams that scored best this week were those with Swanny as skipper - which would have netted you a lazy 342 points.

So if you want to advance further into the Dream Team competition, you’ll need to get him soon.
