Lions ruckman Ben Hudson answered questions from fans during a 30-minute live online chat at 2pm (AEST) on Wednesday 4 April 2012.

Please find below an edited transcript from what was said during the Q&A session

Trent:
Hey Huddo, how are you today? Great game on Saturday!

Ben Hudson: Cheers Trent, feeling good mate. Can’t wait for the game tomorrow night!

Kingy: Hey Huddo, how have you found the change and settled in after moving from the Dogs to the Lions?

Ben Hudson: The change has been great. Every club is pretty much the same, great place to work!

Trent: Welcome to the Lions Huddo. I’m a massive fan of yours. What are you most excited about playing for the Brisbane Lions?

Ben Hudson: G'day Trent, loving life and being back up here in QLD. I’m really excited to be playing with such a young group of Lions players. Should be a great year.

Reas16: Hey Huddo, it’s great to have you on board for the 2012 season and beyond. I thought your game on the weekend was awesome, really gave us a presence around the stoppages. Are you hoping to play all 22 games (barring injuries), or will you get a few rest here and there?

Ben Hudson: Thanks Reas16. It was great to get a win on the board in Round 1. I’m just happy to play my role for the time being, so am happy to play as many games as Vossy picks me for!

Rob: I hear you were promising Rugby Union talent. What made you choose AFL?

Ben Hudson: Not sure if you could call it promising! I played a few years when I was at high school on the Gold Coast...many years ago back in the '90's!!!

Cooper: Hey Huddo, have you noticed much of a difference at the Lions compared to the other AFL clubs you have been at?

Ben Hudson: Hi Cooper, every AFL club is very similar in how they work. The one thing I have noticed is that Queensland is a state dominated by other football codes!!!

Nat: Hey Huddo, keen to hear what you think of our young ruck brigade in Luey and Longer?

Ben Hudson: Hi Nat, I think the future of the Lions’ ruck brigade is in great hands. Luey is going to be a superstar! Big Billy Longer has really impressed since arriving at the Club, and don’t be surprised if he gets his chance very soon.

Brendan: Hi Huddo, Carlton have some pretty impressive big men, what do you think will be the key to keeping them quiet?

Ben Hudson: G'day Brendan, Carlton have a number of players who are in some pretty good form, including both their ruckmen. I think whichever midfield group can take control of the match, will go a long way in deciding the outcome of the game.

Michael: Are you the oldest on the Lions’ team?

Ben Hudson: Thanks for the question Michael! Unfortunately I am the oldest Lion running around!! Although, more importantly, my team-mate Simon Black turned 33 yesterday.

Jimbob: How are you today Mr Hudson. What kind of music do you listen to?

Ben Hudson: Pretty Good thanks Mr Jimbob. I like listening to quite a variety of music, basically whatever is playing on Triple J. In my younger years I was a big punk rock fan!

Ben Pascuzzi: Hey Huddo, are the boys fired up and raring to go to absolutely smash the Blues?

Ben Hudson: Hi Ben, the boys are indeed fired up for tomorrow night’s clash against the Blues at the Gabba!!! Hopefully we can get a massive crowd there to help us get a huge win.

Hey guys, sorry but I’ve gotta run off and get to training.

Hope to see you guys in the crowd!

Go Lions!!!
