Raines accepts one match ban
Andrew Raines has accepted the one match ban handed down by the AFL Match Review Panel on Monday.
The Level Four striking offence handed down by the AFL Match Review Panel followed an off-the-ball incident between the two players during the fourth quarter of last Saturday night's match at the Gabba.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Geelong, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points).
This is a total of seven activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Four offence, drawing 325 demerit points and three-match sanction.
Raines' existing good record reduced the penalty by 25 per cent to 243.75 points and a two-match sanction. His early plea reduced the penalty by a further 25 per cent to 182.81 points and a one-match sanction.
