While the Lions will be facing the Demons in Melbourne this Saturday, there’s still plenty of opportunity for Lions supporters to see their team in action as the Lions Reserves take on Broadbeach on the Gold Coast this weekend.

With a bye last week in Round 1 of the NEAFL competition, it will be the Lions Reserves first test this Saturday at Broadbeach Football Club from 11.30am.

The Lions currently have an injury list of just three, with Jonathan Brown (face), Dayne Zorko (hip) and Brent Staker (knee) the only players unavailable for selection due to fitness.

Zorko, who was recruited to the Lions from Broadbeach, will no doubt be watching with interest from the sidelines as his new team takes on his former Club.

The Lions’ abundance of fit players will prove a challenge for Broadbeach, who will be hungry for a win after last week’s 5-point loss to Labrador.

Lions fans will be likely to see Josh Drummond on the field again as the 28-year-old looks to gain match fitness after a modified pre-season, while experienced tagger Andrew Raines, who has spent three weeks recovering from a minor knee injury, will look to make his first appearance in the maroon, blue and gold for 2012.

The Broadbeach Football Club will have plenty of fun and action for the family on the day. For more information, visit the Broadbeach http://broadbeachcats.com.au/.
