He’ll be up against some old mates in the battle of the big cats tomorrow but Andrew Raines says Richmond’s is a quality midfield that the Lions will have to be on their game to combat.

While he admits it’s still special coming up against his old club, he says it’s a very important game for the football club and for the rest of the year and their future going forward, so he won’t be taking them lightly.

“It’s always good to play against a few old mates but they’re not mates when you go out there and battle, but you catch up with them out of the game and have a laugh about it.

“They’ve got some quality players and if they’re up and about it goes a long way to their success.

“My job is to play on the best every week and not look too far forward at who I’ve got because each week there’s a quality A-grade midfielder so that’s the attitude I’ve got to have.”

The Lions will be looking to bounce back after their hiding at the hands of West Coast last week and Richmond will be out to break a three game losing streak which has seen them lose by less than a kick on each occasion.
