The Brisbane Lions have today taken the next step in the Club’s search for a new Training and Administration centre by inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from land owners and land managers in the south-east Queensland region.

The proposed new centre - hoped by the Lions to also provide community facilities - forms part of the Club’s Strategic Vision Towards 2016.

“The Hyundai Centre within the Gabba is a tremendous home for us, but given the rapid growth of both the Club and the AFL, it became obvious that we needed to explore alternative sites capable of meeting the needs of both the Club and the community into the future,” Lions CEO Malcolm Holmes said.

“There are 48 senior players contracted to the Club, as well almost 200 kids in the Lions Academy system - so you can see the room required to function both professionally and effectively as an AFL Club.

“We hope this process will ensure the Club and the community is provided with the best possible facilities to grow into the future.

“We now look forward to discussing this project with land owners and land managers in the south-east Queensland region.”

The Lions will provide further media updates when they are made available during this process.
