Lions Captain Jonathan Brown has opened the doors to his private sanctuary away from the Gabba in an exclusive video on LIONS TV.

Brown’s wife Kylie takes Lions fans on a tour of the happy couple’s house in the first ever instalment of her new segment on lions.com.au, called Reality Bites.

The videos will provide an entertaining and light-hearted insight into what happens outside of the Gabba confines, with a greater focus on the players’ lives and interests away from football.

“This series is designed to mix reality TV with the Brisbane Lions - sometimes we’ll show you whose kitchen rules, and other times we’ll show you who’s pimped their ride,” Kylie Brown explains at the beginning of the show.

The must-see first episode follows the Lions Captain around his stunning Brisbane home, with some special guest appearances from team-mates along the way.

The Lions’ own ‘Masterchef’ Amon Buchanan is kept busy whipping up a roast in the kitchen, while Matt Maguire takes us through some of the equipment in Browny’s gym.

First round draftee Billy Longer also plays a cameo role in the backyard.

“I get all our draft picks to mow my lawns on a rotation basis, and this week’s turn is Billy Longer,” Brown jokes.

“Billy can really play, and he’s a star of the future. He just can’t mow.”

Brown finishes the comprehensive tour with a sneak peek at Kylie’s beauty salon, and a look at his favourite part of the house - the bar.

“The favourite part of my house is the bar, and thanks to Carlton Draught there’s always plenty of beer in the lines,” Brown said.

“I’ve got plenty of sports memorabilia. I’m a massive NFL fan, and Brett Favre sent me one of his jumpers to commemorate my 200th game.”

But one of the triple Premiership-winning centre half-forward’s most prized memorabilia items is a framed piece featuring one of his father Brian's old Fitzroy jumpers alongside one of Jonathan’s own heritage-style Fitzroy guernseys.
