Brisbane Lions fans around Australia were given unprecedented access into the Club’s inner sanctum back in March courtesy of the LIONS TV documentary Into the Lions’ Den.

Among other things, the program focussed on the overwhelming emotion surrounding Brent Staker’s latest knee reconstruction, including exclusive footage of the 28 year-old in hospital preparing for surgery.

Now Lions fans will be able to continue following Staker’s recovery and rehabilitation with further instalments from LIONS TV.

Part Three of the series follows Staker back the Gabba three weeks after his knee operation, where Club Physiotherapist Adam Russell outlines the next process in his rehabilitation.

"At the moment he's got a fair few scars around his knee, so we're just doing some scar management work and making sure that his scars don't became too thick," Russell said.

"He's got a fair few exercises that he's got to do every day, which will take an hour or two."

"The other thing we'll work on is that hamstring where he got that graft taken out to replace his ACL."

Staker also hits the gym with Rehab and Sports Science Coordinator Dan Comerford for the first time post-op to strengthen up his body.

"A lot of the work we're also doing involves training his opposite side - his left side," Comerford said.

"There's a lot of research that shows if you maintain those neural pathways in your left side, when you come to train the other side, your strength increases are a lot greater."

Brent Staker’s rehabilitation will be an ongoing series on LIONS TV throughout the year.
