Cameron Rayner’s run of consecutive games since debut will come to an end on Saturday after he suffered a hamstring injury in the loss to Richmond at Metricon Stadium on Tuesday night.
The 2017 number one draft pick made his debut in round one of 2018 and has played every game since.
He was unable to take the field in the second half and scans have revealed a hamstring strain that High-Performance manager Damien Austin says could sideline him for up to a month.
“There’s a little bit of damage there so we are probably looking at three to four weeks,’’ he said.
“He has pulled up pretty well but we will go by his symptoms and see how he goes.’’
The good news for the Lions is the availability of veterans Daniel Rich and Ryan Lester after hamstring injuries.
The defenders missed the round 9 win over Essendon and Tuesday’s loss to the Tigers but are available for selection in the side that will take on the Bulldogs at the Gabba on Saturday night.
“Ryan Lester probably could have played our last game two days ago and the same with Rich, so we have made them both available for selection,’’ Austin said.
