In just his fourth game, Rhys Mathieson was among the best with 24 possessions (10 contested), seven inside 50s and five clearances.

Hyundai Help For Kids Lions Academy product Eric Hipwood showed plenty of promise kicking a career-high four goals to bring the team back within three goals in the third quarter.

Sam Mayes impressed with 21 disposals, five tackles and four inside 50s. 

Debutant Reuben William provided excitement for the fans as he showed power off halfback while collecting 12 disposals and three tackles.

Harris Andrews - who swung forward with great effect in the second half, Jarrad Jansen, Dan McStay and Dan Rich all bagged two goals apiece as the Lions kicked their biggest score of the season.
