Tickets to the Brisbane Lions first game at the Gabba for the year, an AFL/AFLW double-header, went on sale this week along with a fresh new way to watch the footy.
Lions fans can get excited about access to private bars, delicious eats and the only cocktails on offer in the stadium in the newly decked out room with the best seats in the house – The Gabba Grounds, GG.
Brisbane’s who’s-who are invited to a VIP launch tonight to check out the room and the recent upgrades to Gabba bars around the stadium, along with entertainment and a chance to mingle with the games stars.
The Gabba has recently undergone significant upgrades with the new and improved stadium experience set to impress fans when the AFL season kicks off next weekend.
The $35 million in upgrades means punters now have access to speciality bar and food outlets, new entertainment spaces and a much more seamless experience on game day.
Lions number one ticket holder Abby Coleman and AFLW players Nat Grider and Jade Ellenger were on hand yesterday for a sneak peek of GG before tonight's celebrations.
Grider said that whilst she was looking forward to next weekend’s AFL and AFLW double-header, she’d enjoy spending her time in the GG after their season was finished.
“We’re really excited about playing our first ever home game at The Gabba next weekend, it’s been a long time coming” she said.
“This room is incredible and once our season is finished I’ll definitely be catching all of the men’s games from the best seats in the house with a bug roll in hand.
“It’s an entirely new and exciting way to watch the footy and a place that footy-fans and non-footy fans alike can come for a great night out.”
The Lions men's and women’s sides play in an epic double-header at The Gabba for the first time next weekend when the AFLW side takes on North Melbourne and the AFL side take on the Sydney Swans.
