The Lions will go into their Round 6 clash against Carlton without Jarrod Berry who has failed to overcome a groin issue.
The rugged midfielder’s absence has forced Senior coach Chris Fagan to make one change to the side for key forward Eric Hipwood’s 100th AFL game.
Berry, who was subbed out of the 57 point win over the Bombers on Saturday night, was unable to train fully during the week and has been replaced in the side by Deven Robertson who returns for his third senior match of the season.
Robertson was a stand-out in the opening round of the VFL against Essendon last week gathering 21 touches to half time before taking an early shower and heading to the Gabba was he was listed as the emergency.
The Lions’ victory over Essendon came in wet and heavy conditions and it will be a vastly different game under the roof at Marvel Stadium.
Brisbane and Carlton are both sitting on two wins from their five matches and veteran defender Darcy Gardiner said the opportunity both Clubs have to even the ledger set the stage for a tough contest.
He said the dry conditions would allow the Blues to get their running game going and said he and fellow defenders were aware of the task at hand.
"They've got a lot of speed off half-back. They're quite quick to move the ball and get it into their key forwards,’’ he said.
"They're quite dangerous in all aspects of the ground. It's a big challenge."
