Best and Fairest, and Runner Up
In the end it was a fairy-tale finish for this years Lions AFL Women’s Best and Fairest, claiming the prestigious award along with a Grand Final win from ten appearances.
Lions stalwart Ally Anderson pipped Irish import Orla O’Dwyer in a hotly fought contest that fittingly went down to the wire.
In a team that has consistently been described as a champion team rather than a team of champions there were just 10 votes separating the top 5 on the final leader board on Friday night.
Anderson’s victory wraps a very sweet week for her in which she also managed to get the Grand Final monkey off the back having competed in ten and never won one.
