Brisbane Lions AFLW defender Beth Pinchin has suffered an ACL injury whilst playing VFLW last month. Beth was elevated to the primary list as a replacement player for Sharni Webb who is on maternity leave for Season 5.
This is the third serious knee injury for the defender.
“It's heartbreaking for Beth, as she’s worked so hard this season to get her body right and had shown so much improvement,” Head of Women’s Football Breeanna Brock said.
“It was great to be able to give Beth an opportunity at this level, she’s such a great person with an infectious personality and we’ve loved having her. She’s got her sights set on a return in season 7 which is fantastic so that’s the focus now.“
Pinchin will undergo surgery in the coming weeks with the club supporting her through her recovery.
Pinchin will not be on the primary list next season as the sign and trade period open on May 31st.
