The Brisbane Lions are comfortable with contract negotiations with young star James Aish, says Talent Acquisition and Retention Manager Peter Schwab
Schwab spoke to Aish’s manager Liam Pickering earlier this week after both parties agreed to delay contract extension talks until after the pre-season NAB Challenge.
“James is in a good space,” Schwab told The Courier-Mail. “Liam said James is happy here in Brisbane and is looking forward to the season starting.
“He has an offer from us. It’s just a matter of when James and Liam want to start talking which could happen in a couple of weeks.
“You’d like to be able to start putting it to bed but that’s OK. We’ll just keep working away.’’
The 19-year-old midfielder, taken by Brisbane at pick No. 7 in the 2013 national draft, played 21 senior games in his debut season in 2014 and has been a strong performer across the NAB Challenge.
