The Brisbane Lions have made three changes for Sunday’s clash with Essendon at Etihad Stadium.
The Lions will regain veteran defender Daniel Merrett who will return from illness, while Liam Dawson and Josh Walker have earned a senior recall.
Dawson has not played senior football since Round 6 while Walker has played the last two rounds in the NEAFL.

Defender Daniel McStay was the first casualty from the Lions’ loss to GWS. He had season ending ankle surgery on Tuesday.
Ryan Lester and Jarrad Jansen have both been omitted.
