This week we're taking you back to 2002, when Simon Black took home the Brownlow Medal.
One of the Lions' most decorated players, Simon Black almost achieved every individual honour in the game and, in the 2002 Season, established himself among the true champions of the game after winning the Brownlow in a team that went on to win their second consecutive premiership.
Simon Black polled 25 votes to beat Port Adelaide's Josh Francou (21) and skipper Michael Voss (17).
In this year, Simon Black also won his second Merrett-Murray Medal in a row and earned All-Australian selection.
