The Brisbane Lions have made three key changes ahead of Friday night’s clash against Melbourne, headlined by the inclusion of former captain Dayne Zorko.
Zorko returns for the Lions in his first game of 2023, after overcoming a hamstring injury which saw him miss last Saturday’s Round 1 game against Port Adelaide.
The veteran is joined in the Brisbane line up by former St Kilda defender Darragh Joyce, with the Irish recruit picked to make his Club debut against the Demons.
Joyce, 25, arrived at the Den as a Category B rookie following 13 games with the Saints over six seasons.
Reliable ruck-forward Darcy Fort has also earned a selection in coach Chris Fagan’s best 23 after strong performances in the pre-season practice matches.
The Lions will be without versatile defender Keidean Coleman (concussion), while young duo James Tunstill and Deven Robertson will return to the VFL.
