Ruckman Matthew Leuenberger answered questions from fans during a 30-minute live online chat at 1:30pm (AEST) on Wednesday 1st August 2012.

Matthew Leuenberger: Hey guys how are we all?
Anthony: Hey luey, hows the injury going? cant wait to see you back on the field mate! your a superstar!
Matthew Leuenberger: Thanks mate. It’s going well its healing; unfortunately it’s just a bit of a race against time at the moment.
Jackson: Hey Leuy, what's your interests outside of footy?
Matthew Leuenberger: Big fan of cooking and travelling whenever I get the chance.
Sally: Hey mate, your great in the ruck! Can't wait to see you back out there RUCK n ROLLIN!!! What kind of music are you into?
Matthew Leuenberger: Thanks Sally. I like most types, at the moment I been listening to a lot of Mike Snow.
Katie: Hey Luey
Matthew Leuenberger: Hey Katie.
Nick: Ben Husdon was an inspired pick up this year and he has been awesome. Have not heard much of Billy Longer in past months, how is he going
Matthew Leuenberger: Huddos been great. Billy has been going really well. It’s important we remember that he is 18 and its unrealistic to think he will be playing a lot of senior footy however he is improving week by week in the ressies and he’s adjusted to life in Brisbane really well.
Angus: Hey Big Guy, How do you think the development of young Longer is coming along? have you taken him under your enormous wing?
Matthew Leuenberger: Yeah taken him under my wing he lived with me initially when he got to Brisbane and catch up with him regularly outside of the club. He's a great kid.
Katie: Hey Luey, Who's your favourite coach? i can't wait to see you back on the field
Matthew Leuenberger: Thanks Katie my favourite would have to be Charmo. Quite a personality as you all know through Footy Fix but he works directly with me being a ruckman and he was the bloke who looked after me when I first got to Brisbane.
Jack: HAHA GOOD ONE SALLY!!!
Corey: Hi Luey, Is the injured achilles going to be 100% when healed or something that will need careful management for the rest of your career?
Matthew Leuenberger: Good question Corey I will be catching up with a specialist in coming days to get that my answer myself.
Sally: Off season is soon approaching do you have any travel plans or just send some time back home with your family?
Matthew Leuenberger: I'm unsure Sally. Having missed the season so far i want to be around Brisbane a month before the pre-season starts to get some training in. Though in September I’m thinking of a few weeks in Canada with Brent Staker to clear the mind after a frustrating season.
Dermott: Hi Matt, How is my mate Justin Clarke progressing? Do you think he's a chance for a game this year? Quality lad.
Matthew Leuenberger: He is going really well. A great kid too, provides a lot of entertainment for the boys. I would never rule out a player getting a game so you never know but his development has been great beating quality forwards week in week out in the twos.
Nat: Hey Leuey, what is the best piece if advise you have received so far in your footy career?
Matthew Leuenberger: The harder you work the luckier you get.
Tom: Hey Luey, saw you like to cook on one of your Luey's Masterclass videos, what is your signature dish?
Matthew Leuenberger: I’m going to say a beef bourgignon. No idea if I spelt that right.
Nick: While you were rehabbing the knee, you were able to get back home to Perth for a break (Mum's roast) have you been able to do the same this time?
Matthew Leuenberger: I haven’t nick. Initially I was only going to miss 6 weeks so I’ve stayed around training the entire time anticipating to be able to play in coming weeks.
Jess: Hi Matt, Do you have a girlfriend?
Matthew Leuenberger: I’m single Jess.
Bill: Hi Leuey, with Charmo always on Footy Fix does he actually have any time to be the Ruck Coach?
Matthew Leuenberger: Hard to believe but yeh he loves being around the boys he’s hard to get rid of at times.
James: Hey Luey, who was your footy idol growing up?
Matthew Leuenberger: Stephen Kernahan.
Sally: That Charmo seems like a character, has he stitched you up lately?
Matthew Leuenberger: Na he’s looked after me lately in fact he hasn’t stitched me up for quite a while.
Sharon: Hi Matt - you are my absolute fav.... any chance you are single?
Matthew Leuenberger: Thanks. Yep currently single
Nat: Good advice, who told you that?
Matthew Leuenberger: Adrian Fletcher
Jake: Hi Matt... Do you think this has been the most frustrating year of football for you with the injury?
Matthew Leuenberger: I think so. Purely because the date of return has been getting pushed back on me while in the past I’ve always known I was done for the year.
Jackson: Do your teammates take advantage of your passion for cooking?
Matthew Leuenberger: Billy Longer is always on my back for a meal.
Jack: Hi Leuy, what has it been like having big Huddo at the club?
Matthew Leuenberger: Been great. Likeable character and a great competitor just a shame I haven’t had the chance to partner up with him.
Jess: Single and ready to mingle?
Matthew Leuenberger: Jess is this Boomer Harvey?
Harry: I heard a rumour you are sponsored by a cat this year... you must feel a little lucky!
Matthew Leuenberger: Feeling quite lucky. Believe his name is Harry too.
Ken: Wheres your number 1 spot to pick up a feed in brissy??
Matthew Leuenberger: I'll go with the suburbs of New Farm and Sunny Bank. Many good options.
Ken: Reddo and Rocky have thier bromance, who would be yours??
Matthew Leuenberger: Well my bromance was broken last year with the departure of Collier and Austin but I’ve since taken a liking to Jordan "Moose" Lisle
Luke: Hey mate - got any big plans for when the season finishes?? Big trip to Bali?
Matthew Leuenberger: Avoiding Bali. Hoping for a few weeks in Canada.
Doug: Glad to see you have some good taste in music... Do you ever get out to see concerts or festivals?
Matthew Leuenberger: I was lucky enough to get a day in at splendour last year but it’s tough. Its surprisingly bad on the body standing up all day so very much got to pick and choose. Sounds strange I’m sure.
