The Brisbane Lions are set to regain veteran Daniel Rich for Sunday’s clash with Adelaide, though will be without in-form defender Jack Payne who will miss under concussion protocols.
Rich, who missed the last three weeks after injuring his calf in Brisbane’s Round 7 win over Fremantle, is available for selection after completing a full training session on Tuesday.
The Club confirmed Payne will not travel to Adelaide after being ruled out with a delayed concussion from Saturday night’s win against the Gold Coast SUNS.
Fellow defender Keidean Coleman will be a test for the Round 11 encounter after coming away from the weekend’s match with glute soreness.
Coleman came from the field in the final minutes of the win and will be assessed after training on Thursday.
The Lions also had three injuries from Saturday’s 117-point win against Coburg in the VFL, including midfielder Rhys Mathieson who is expected to miss up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.
Also set to miss the next month is forward Shadeau Brain (shoulder), while Noah Answerth has also been ruled out this week under concussion protocol.
