Weekly injury update
Lions Physical Performance Manager Brett Burton catches up with lions.com.au to give his weekly update on the Club’s injury list.
Xavier Clarke
Xavier has a very mild hamstring strain which he sustained in the first quarter of the Reserves game over the weekend, so given his history with soft tissue injuries he’ll be out for a couple of weeks.
Andrew Raines
Rainesy got a mild concussion in the game on Saturday night so we will assess him as the week goes on and he should be available to play this weekend.
Jonathan Brown
Browny’s travelling along really well. He’s been training with the group with no limitations apart from face contact, and he’s basically just waiting for another week to go past so he’ll be available next week (Round 9).
Niall McKeever
Niall’s got a slight quad strain so he’ll go through the normal rehabilitation process with quads and he’ll probably be out for a couple of weeks.
Brent Staker
Brent is going really well. He’s looking to start running in the next week or so. He’s progressing really well and getting some good gains.
Ryan Lester
Ryan is currently in the moon boot so no weight bearing for six weeks. He’s just doing all upper body work at the moment, which is a good opportunity for him to get some gains in his upper body strength.
Callum Bartlett
Callum’s going really well. He’s made some good progressions in the last couple of weeks, and all going well, he’ll be looking to get into modified training towards the end of the month.
Jamie Charman
Charmo has been doing some stair running and strength work and is going well.
