While the Lions often failed to string good quarters into wins in 2015, there were a number of exciting purple patches that gave fans a glimpse into a bright future.

RD 1 – Q4 vs. Collingwood
The Magpies led by 35 points during the fourth term but were given an almighty scare when the Lions booted the last seven goals of the match to almost pinch an unlikely victory.
When Rich kicked a long range snap from just outside the centre square seconds into the final quarter, an upset wasn’t out of the question.
Green chipped in for another two while Rich’s running goal from 52-metres out with less than seven minutes on the clock set The Gabba crowd alight. But it was too little, too late for the Lions who succumbed to a 12-point defeat.
RD 6 – Q3 vs. Carlton
Josh Green kicked two important goals in the third term as the Lions wrestled back a 14-point deficit.
And they did it despite being rocked by a nasty incident that saw Nick Robertson carried off after colliding head-first with the fence in the third term.
Ryan Lester’s snap and goal receive from Allen Christensen who moved through the Blues’ congestion was a highlight.
RD 7 – Q1 vs. Port Adelaide
When Mitch Robinson booted a set shot goal five minutes in against Port Adelaide it began a catalyst for the Lions.
Dayne Beams’ second clearance for the match launched the home side’s first goal of the game from stoppage when Green capitalised.
With Zorko, Beams and Robinson running riot, the Lions ran out 37-point victors.
RD 9 – Q1 vs. St Kilda
The Lions began with a bang as they led by as much as 29-points during the first term against the Saints in Indigenous Round.
Robinson converted the opening goal of the quarter from a kick in and Rich (2), Bewick (1), Lester (2) and Rockliff (1) followed.
RD 14 – Q1 vs. Fremantle
Ladder leaders, Fremantle, got off to an ideal start booting the first two goals of the game in wet and slippy conditions in Perth.
The Lions had their first when Bewick held on to a swift Redden kick inside 50.
Best on ground, Leuenberger, slotted a long range goal from outside 50 to give the Lions some ascendency and sent some nerves through the Dockers' home crowd.
Josh Green followed up with another leaving the Lions with a two point advantage at the first change.
RD 20 – Q3 vs. Carlton
The Lions increased a 12-point lead to 35 points in a stunning third term.
They kicked eight unanswered goals including two brilliant passages of play from the fleet-footed Dayne Zorko whose celebrations after an 11 game losing streak woke up The Gabba crowd.
RD 21 – Q1 vs. Adelaide
When Christensen scored the Lions’ first for the night as they ran from coast to coast in a smooth transition from defensive 50, it appeared that an upset may have been on the cards.
It was one of the Club’s most exciting quarters for the season.
Christensen and Freeman booted another goal each giving the Lions a six point buffer at the first change in front of a hostile Adelaide home crowd.
RD 22 – Q1 vs. Hawthorn
It was a quick-fire start for the Hawks with Matthew Suckling kicking a goal in the opening 30 seconds on the first play of the day.
But the Lions appeared determined not to let the favourites run away early and quickly replied.
Pearce Hanley was on the end of a nice chain of possessions for the Lions, and more goals came from Luke McGuane, Jed Adcock and skipper Tom Rockliff.
Rockliff set a new career high for disposals in a quarter with 17.
RD 23 – Q2 vs. Western Bulldogs
The Lions started the second quarter with a flurry as they attempted to account for a poor first term.
The Lions led by Adcock and Green kicked six goals in a row.
Stefan Martin’s brillant tap work set-up a first goal to youngster Billy Evans.
RD 23 – Q4 vs. Western Bulldogs
The Bulldogs trailed by 15 points at the last change and kicked three goals to hit the lead, but the Lions would not be denied.
Adcock's brilliant three-bounce goal from outside 50m with five minutes remaining gave the Lions the lead, which they never relinquished.
