The Brisbane Lions roadmap to premiership redemption has been set following the release of the full 2024 AFL Fixture.
In a treat for Lions fans, the Club’s first two home games at The Gabba are blockbusters against Carlton in Opening Round and Collingwood on Easter Thursday.
The Club will also host four top eight teams from 2023 with St Kilda, Melbourne, Sydney and GWS all making the trip to The Gabba.
On top of that several of the league’s biggest Victorian clubs including Richmond, Geelong and Essendon are also set to face the Lions at home.
Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann said he was backing the Club to have another very strong season and urged fans to become members to avoiding missing the action.
“The excitement has well and truly kicked in with the release of the fixture, particularly with several blockbuster games at The Gabba,” Swann said.
“We certainly have some tough matchups scheduled at home, but as they say ‘if you want to be the best, you’ve got to beat the best’ so that’s the challenge for us.
“With the help of our passionate home crowd it will certainly help Fages (Fagan) and the boys keep The Gabba as a real fortress for us and make it a tough road trip for others.
“It was amazing to see our members and fans pack The Gabba for seven sell-out games this season, and now we will strive to beat that in 2024.
“With our growing Membership base and performance through 2023, the best way to guarantee a seat at every Gabba home game is through a Lions membership.”

The Lions also face some big road trips including five visits to Melbourne, three to Adelaide, two to Perth and one to Canberra.
Three of the Melbourne games will be played at Marvel Stadium, with an increased two matches at the MCG against reigning premier Collingwood and Melbourne.
Coming off the back of a Grand Final season, the Lions are currently scheduled to feature in at least 10 prime-time broadcast matches, with the AFL still to confirm the timeslots for the last nine games of the season.
As confirmed on Tuesday, the Lions first match of 2024 will be against Carlton as part of the historic ‘Opening Round’ on Friday 8 March at 6:40pm local time.
