The Brisbane Lions have named a strong 26-player squad for Thursday night’s match simulation against the Gold Coast SUNS at Brighton Homes Arena.
Fans will get to see the two Queensland AFL rivals go head-to-head across six 20-minute quarters (plus time on).
As confirmed on Tuesday, midfielder Hugh McCluggage will be a key in for the Lions after missing last week’s intra-club with a corked thigh.
While the freshly re-elected Co-Vice Captain inclusion is the most notable, Lions fans will also get a further glimpse of a quarter of exciting youngsters.
Rewarded for impressive preseasons sees emerging talents Kai Lohmann, Jimmy Tunstill, Harry Sharp and Jaxon Prior get the opportunity to play and push for selection ahead of the 2024 season.
Co-Captain Lachie Neale along with fellow midfielders Jarrod Berry and Dev Robertson will continue to train this week, with the trio all expected to play in next week’s AAMI Community Series match against the Sydney Swans.
The Brisbane Lions are expecting a big crowd at Brighton Homes Arena for Thursday night’s match simulation with free entry for all fans.
First bounce is scheduled for 5pm AEST, and those that can’t get there can still catch all the action live on Kayo.
