The Brisbane Lions welcome back defender Brandon Starcevich, while also selecting young ruck Henry Smith to make his debut against Sydney on Sunday.
Starcevich, who missed last week’s win over West Coast due to concussion, is a confirmed starter in defence for the sold-out Round 19 clash at The Gabba.
The selection of 21-year-old Smith is set to have Lions equally as exited, as he comes into the team for his first game at AFL level.
Smith, taken with Pick 48 in the 2020 NAB AFL Draft from SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens, is an exciting young player who stands at a towering 206-centimetres.

Making way for Starcevich and Smith to come into the side is Logan Morris (omitted) and Connor McKenna (managed).
Smith is named on the interchange alongside teammates Callum Ah Chee, Jarrod Berry, Jaspa Fletcher and Shadeau Brain.
The Lions received an extra boost on Thursday night when forward Charlie Cameron won his appeal to have his three-match ban for a dangerous tackle overturned.
Brisbane’s three emergencies are Morris, McKenna and Deven Robertson.
Sunday’s Round 19 match against the Sydney Swans is officially a sell-out, making it the Brisbane’s Lions sixth sold out home game for the 2024 season.
