The Aspley Hornets await the Brisbane Lions in the first week of the 2018 NEAFL finals series.
The Lions will head into the match full of confidence after recording a 19.11 (125) to 3.6 (24) victory over the GWS Giants on Saturday.
Development Coach Zane Littlejohn said the win was very valuable before the finals.
"You want to win going into the finals. We wanted to make sure we got a good result," Littlejohn said.
"We saw some positive signs with our offence which was really pleasing - to kick another 100 point plus score was great.
"To keep GWS to just 24 points was also really positive."
Corey Lyons and Rohan Bewick impressed with 38 touches each, while Jake Barrett, Ryan Bastinac and Toby Wooller all kicked three goals.
"Corey's had a good month of footy since he came back from a hand injury," Littlejohn said.
"Our forwards worked well. It was good to see Tom Fullarton back out there.
"Toby Wooller hit the scoreboard and was really smart with his running."
The win moved the Lions up to fifth place on the ladder, locking in an elimination final showdown with the fourth-place Hornets on Saturday at Graham Road.
In their only meeting this year, Aspley came away with a hard-fought 19-point victory
"It means there's going to be one tough decision this week," Littlejohn said.
"We will sit down
"Aspley have a super side and midfield. We understand it's going to be an extremely contested game on footy...and that's where we will win the game."
