The Brisbane Lions have traded Dayne Beams to Collingwood.
In exchange for Beams and Pick No. 41 and 44, the Lions receive Pick No. 18, 56 and a future first-round pick from the Magpies.
General Manager of Football David Noble said the decision to trade was not taken lightly.
“We believe we have struck a deal that is in the best interests of our Club and one which also allows Dayne to return back to Melbourne,” Noble said.

Beams arrived at the Lions during the 2014 AFL trade period on a six-year deal. He was a joint winner of the Merrett-Murray Medal in 2015 and was appointed captain in 2017. He handed the reins of captaincy over to Dayne Zorko after the Lions' Round 9 win over Hawthorn this year.
