To the relief of his AFL Fantasy owners, Dayne Zorko backed up his excellent game against Collingwood with another star showing against the Bulldogs. Zorko finished with four goals for the second week in a row and 24 touches.  

Charlie Cameron chipped in with three goals to take his tally to 15 for the season.

With Stef Martin dominating in the ruck (49 hitouts), the Lions won the hitouts 62-20, but lost the clearances 45-35.

As was evident on the night, the Bulldogs were very handball happy and effective at this, totalling 100 more handballs than the Lions. 

The Lions lost contested possessions (170-149) and inside 50s (64-47).

Despite the lopsided inside 50 count, the Lions took more marks inside 50 (19-16) with Dan McStay and Oscar McInerney both taking multiple contested marks.  

Pressure on the day was positive, with the Lions making their greatest number of tackles of the year (86) thus far and winning the count by +19. 

While defensively the Lions haven't been as miserly as they were to start the year, offensively things have been starting to come together and in the past two weeks the Lions have been the third highest scoring team in the league.

NEAFL Lions crush Suns

11 Lions NEAFL players collected 20 or more disposals in Saturday’s monster 12.24 (96) to 0.4 (4) victory over the Gold Coast Suns at Burpengary.

Ryan Lester was best on ground with 30 touches (15 contested) at 90% efficiency, nine clearances and 15 score involvements.

Other notable performances include Marco Paparone (36 disposals), Ryan Bastinac (seven score assists), Josh Walker (six contested marks) and Tom Bell (ten tackles).

The Lions dominated in all the team statistics including inside 50s (61-26), marks inside 50 (38-4), tackles (63-54) and disposals (448-298).
