The Brisbane Lions AFLW side opened their Winter Series account in stunning fashion yesterday in Sydney, holding GWS South scoreless while piling on 116 points.
Jessica Wuetschner was unstoppable up forward and kicked four goals. Sophie Conway also impressed with three majors.
The scoreboard might not suggest it, but GWS did have numerous attacking opportunities, but the Lions' defence was rock-solid and rebounded the ball back everytime.
Next up for the Lions is a home match against GWS North in two weeks time. More information on the Winter Series can be found here.
