The Brisbane Lions have been given an exciting 2018 AFL Fixture, with a stack of blockbuster games set to ignite the Gabba in the new season.

Collingwood, Hawthorn, Essendon, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Carlton will all head north to play at the Gabba, while the Lions have huge games pencilled in interstate, including an early-season matchup against premiers Richmond at the MCG.

After starting the season away against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, March 24, the Lions' first home game is against Melbourne on Saturday, March 31.

Two tough road trips follow to round out the first month of football, with matches against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval in Round 3 and Richmond at what promises to be a packed MCG in Round 4. 

Upon returning home, the Lions face the Gold Coast Suns for the first QClash of the year in Round 5. 

A huge matchup against new recruit Luke Hodge's former team, Hawthorn, awaits in Round 9 at the Gabba. 

The Lions enjoy the bye in Round 13, sandwiched between home games against Essendon and the Giants. 

In Round 15 the Lions head west to take on Fremantle at the new $1.5 billion Perth Stadium. 

Three of the Lions' final four games are in Queensland, including the second QClash at Metricon Stadium in Round 22. 

The Giants are the only team from the top eight in 2017 that the Lions will play twice.
