Rising star Eric Hipwood has backed up his Mark of the Year nomination by also being nominated for the AFL's Goal of the Year following yesterday's match against Collingwood.
Taking possession of the ball with his back to the goal and several Magpies players swarming, Hipwood was able to brush them off and wheel around onto his left foot. Despite being 50 metres out and on a tough angle, distance was no issue for the young forward who drilled the ball over the goal umpire's head for a spectacular goal.
Hipwood is up against Charlie Cameron and Toby Greene for this week's best goal.
