Sarah Kelly and Ross Thornton have been re-elected to the Brisbane Lions board, un-opposed.
Kelly has been a member of the Lions board since 2014 and was elevated to the role of Deputy Chairman in late 2017. During her time at the Club she founded the Women of the Pride, a networking and fundraising body, which engages with female members of the Club.
Away from the Lions, Kelly works as an Associate Professor in Law and Marketing at the University of Queensland.
Thornton, a former Fitzroy player, has been a member of the Lions board since March 2015. He played 147 games for the Lions between 1980-89 and won the Best and Fairest award in 2014.
Thornton is a successful businessman, owning two McDonald’s restaurants in Melbourne.
He is the only Victorian-based director of the board.
